SCC's Carolina Auction Academy graduates students for 2018!
Carolina Auction Academy students and faculty celebrate another successful class.
Albemarle, NC -
Stanly Community College - Carolina Auction Academy students graduated on May 14th and are heading to take their state exam. The Carolina Auction Academy class was full of enthusiasm and friendly competition as they learned about the auction method of marketing.
Students came from as far away as Robeson County for two nights a week over 12 weeks to complete the requirements which cover law, rules, regulations, product knowledge, set up and accounting, in addition to learning the chant and having fun. “We aim for a well-rounded education, and all 8 of our instructors are there to share their skills and love for the profession,” said Bill O’Neal. The student auction was held at Hinson’s Auction Barn in Oakboro and students really outdid themselves with their skills and the funds raised.
Each year students vote on two awards at the end of class: “Best All Around” and “Most Improved.” This class voted for Robert “Bucky” Hathcock of Norwood as “Best All Around “and Barbara Cain of Orrum, NC as “Most Improved.” Additionally, instructors gave a “Dedication, Desire, and Driving” award to Jerry Byrd of Proctorville, NC, and Barbara Cain of Orrum, NC, for driving 225 miles each class night and having perfect attendance.
The next class of Carolina Auction Academy begins August 27th. For more information, contact Betty O’Neal at 704-991-0200 or email@example.com.
